Activation issues

I have a Samsung tab s7 plus. I have been trying to activate it since it was delivered. Sprint/t-mobile says the IMEI is registered to a s20 phone. I rechecked with Samsung, it is not. It is now June and it has still not been activated. Apparently they’ve known about this issue since October 2020 but never disclosed this to customers. I finally found a workaround but it’s a bit awkward. They have to activate my tablet on a phone account just to make it work. Now I have to add a phone account and cancel a tablet account. This is A LOAD OF CRAP! I wonder who else is in this predicament and given no options at all as was me from March until June.
