Is the Moto G5 plus compatible with 4G?

Cricket (AT&T) just notified me my phone is incompatible with their switch to total 4G next February, yet I’ve read that this phone is compatible with either 3G or 4G. When I go into network settings and mobile network, my preferred network type is LTE. The only options listed are 2G, 3G and LTE. Do I have to get a new phone, or can I use this on 4G. If I can use it, are there some steps I need to take to make it work?
