On my Samsung Galaxy A1, can ii fix “Unfortunately, System UI has stopped working”?

On unassociated occasions my over-a-year-old Samsung Galaxy A10 arbitrarily announces that System UI has stopped working. I’ve been told it’s likely a result of a faulty automatic update. Is a systemwide reset the only fix? Is there a less dramatic "fix" we haven’t found? If I get a new phone, will this problem simply transfer into the new phone’s OS?
