Quaestion about new iPhone and Verizon

We are currently on a Verizon plan that charges us $33.00/month for my old LG G4 (WTF?), my son $27.01 for his a Samsung Galaxy J7 V, and my wife the same for her old iPhone SE. He was recently given an unlocked iPhone 13 as a gift and instead of contacting Verizon to activate the iPhone, he simply switched his SIMM card from his old Galaxy to the new iPhone. Everything seems to be working fine so far, but our plan still shows him using the Galaxy. Is there any reason to tell Verizon (so they can start charging us more for a Premium smart phone), other than getting tech support from them for his iPhone, which he can get through Apple?
