Taking a very long drive using Android Auto

I am about to take a very long trip next weekend that will have me on the road for about 15 hours. I’m going to be using Google Maps through Android Auto. Which means the phone is going to have to be physically connected to use Android Auto if I’m not mistaken as I don’t think you can use Android Auto and Google Maps through Bluetooth.

I know in the summer I sometimes take a trip that is about 3 1/2 hours long and by the time I get there, the phone is a little bit warm. Is there a chance that after 12+ hours of being connected up and basically charging the battery the whole time, that it could lead the phone to overheat?
