Unresponsive Samsung Galaxy s7

Phone will not respond to any combinations of buttons, regular power button, recovery mode, download mode, maintenance boot mode, etc.

When plugged in to a charger, the middle section of the motherboard gets significantly heated. This worries me that I will never be able to rescue the data from this phone. I did verify with a multimeter that the battery is successfully charging.

Anyone have any experience with this? Is the motherboard toast? I saw some videos where people use heat and welding flux to reset the welding bonds under 2 of the microchips, with success. Any opinions on that?

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
